Is MathSense Homework an alternative to IXL?

For math homework, it’s a different approach. IXL gives online practice with a SmartScore; MathSense Homework reads students’ own written work and responds with a question to try next — never the answer, never a score.

How is each priced for schools?

As of September 30, 2026, IXL sells classroom licences online and quotes schools and districts. MathSense Homework is priced per school — you request a quote in the app.

Where is student data kept?

MathSense Homework keeps student data in your school’s region and never uses it to train AI.

MathSense Homework vs IXLOnline skills practice, or feedback on the homework students already write?

IXL is an online practice platform across math, language arts, science, social studies and Spanish. Students answer questions skill by skill, a SmartScore tracks their progress, and a missed question comes with a step-by-step walkthrough. MathSense Homework is only for math homework: students photograph one handwritten problem and get back what’s right, where the reasoning broke, and a question to try next.
